L & M Carpet One Floor & Home is honored to be a part of Building For America's Bravest in their effort to provide custom-designed smart homes for catastrophically injured service members.

Cpl. Larry Bailey

L&M Carpet One Floor & Home is honored to be a part of what in the next months will be the home of Cpl. Larry Bailey II and his family in Sumerduck, VA. This initiative is part of Building for America’s Bravest, a program that raises funds to build custom homes for American service members that are catastrophically injured in combat. While in Afghanistan in 2011, Bailey lost both legs and his left hand to an IED explosion that detonated while he was trying to repel an assault on his unit.

L&M Carpet One Floor & Home will be in charge of installing all the flooring in this new home. "Being a part of this great initiative is an honor for us. Although what we are doing will never pay for the sacrifices soldiers give for our country, is a way of saying thanks for their service" shared Matt Shelton, Sales Manager of L&M Carpet One.

Bailey II, his wife, and daughter, will soon be able to create happy memories in a smart home that has been designed to cater Larry’s needs. For example, he will be able to turn the lights on and off with just the swipe of an iPad. The needs of every injured service member are different, the reason why each smart home from Building for America’s Bravest is constructed around the unique needs of its recipients. building for America's Bravest

Building for America’s Bravest is a program of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation that builds Smart Homes for our most catastrophically injured service members returning home. Each home is custom designed to address the unique needs of each individual. Energy efficient, automated and easily accessible—these homes use "adaptive technology" to help our most severely injured heroes live better, more independent lives. The smart homes built are made possible by the support of many companies and private donations. You can help our bravest by spreading the word and making a donation. A contribution of any size is fully tax-deductible and greatly appreciated. Please visit L& M Carpet One Floor & Home to make a donation.
